About This Product

■Summary

By using the mobile real-time PCR device PicoGene® PCR1100, highly sensitive genetic testing is possible regardless of location. By being able to quickly identify and identify various genes on-site, we believe that this technology can be used in a wide range of fields, including food hygiene in factories, environmental pollution surveys, and biological resource surveys. ■Compact

Up until now, PCR devices that have been widely available on the market have been generally used in laboratories because they are extremely large. As a result, it took a considerable amount of time to obtain test results. The PicoGene® PCR1100 is approximately 1/10 the volume of conventional equipment, weighs approximately 560g, and has a vibration-resistant structure. This makes it possible to carry out PCR work while carrying it in the hand with a "mobile" device. By setting the appropriate reagents and conditions, results can be obtained in as little as 10 minutes.

■High speed (separate heater method)

Very fast analysis is possible. By providing separate high-temperature and low-temperature heater areas inside the device, the temperature of the sample can be changed by moving the sample in the flow path between the heaters. Therefore, the time required for temperature change can be significantly shortened, and detection can be performed in as little as 10 minutes, depending on the sample type and reagent condition.

■Fine channel method

Thermal cycling of the specimen is performed within a uniquely designed "microchannel." The flow path has a built-in filter, which prevents contamination from amplified products after the experiment.

■Low power consumption

Very low power consumption (5V3A). Therefore, it can be powered by a mobile battery for smartphones, which is easily available at electronics retailers.

■Accuracy/sensitivity

Although it is extremely small, fast, and lightweight, its accuracy is equivalent to that of a general PCR device (10 copies/ul~).

■Reverse transcription

PicoGene® PCR1100 is equipped with a reverse transcription region, and by using an appropriate reverse transcriptase, it is possible to perform a series of conversions from RMA to DNA and subsequent PCR amplification of DNA.
