About This Product

Purephalt W is a premix type binder equivalent to straight asphalt 60/80 that has the ability to reduce the mixing and compaction temperature of asphalt mixtures by approximately 30℃. Purephalt W reduces fuel consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions during the production of asphalt mixtures, contributing to global environmental conservation. In addition, because it has a wide construction temperature range, it can be applied to pavement works that require improved workability. 

■Features・The production temperature of asphalt mixture can be lowered by about 30℃ compared to normal straight asphalt. 
- It is possible to reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions at asphalt plants. 
・Due to its long-lasting temperature reduction function, workability can be improved. 
・Since it is a premix type, it requires less time to add compared to plant mix type additives. 
・The properties of the binder and mixture are almost the same as straight asphalt. 
・Construction can be carried out using normal machinery. 

■Application・Paving work that requires measures to reduce environmental impact
・Paving work at sites where it is necessary to shorten traffic open time
・At night, in winter, and other times when workability improvement is necessary

■Temperature reduction effectEven when compacted at a temperature 30°C lower than the specified temperature for straight asphalt, a compaction degree of over 99.5% and good mixture properties can be obtained.

■Points to keep in mind when applying・Mixture design is based on straight asphalt. 
- In the case of recycled mixtures or special mixtures, check the compactability in advance. 

■A guideline for medium temperature construction temperatures is shown below. ・Mixing temperature: 120-140℃
・Leveling temperature: 120℃ or higher
・Initial rolling temperature: 110℃ or more
・Secondary rolling completion temperature: 70 to 90℃
・Traffic opening temperature: 50℃ or less
