About This Product

■Infrared sensor

Pyroelectric infrared sensors are infrared sensors that utilize the pyroelectric effect of ferroelectric ceramics and can detect temperature changes. It can also sharply detect even the slightest infrared rays emitted from the human body. On the other hand, a thermopile is a thermal infrared sensor that generates a thermoelectromotive force according to the amount of incident energy when it receives infrared rays emitted from an object, making it possible to detect the absolute amount of energy (temperature). In addition to proposing pyroelectric infrared sensors and thermopiles according to the purpose of infrared detection, Nippon Ceramic also offers many customization services. Depending on the purpose of infrared detection, you can choose between pyroelectric infrared sensors (pyrosensors) and thermopile sensors.

■Thermopile

A thermopile sensor is a thermal infrared sensor that generates a thermoelectromotive force according to the amount of incident energy when it receives infrared rays emitted from an object. It is possible to detect the absolute amount of energy (temperature). While a pyroelectric infrared sensor (pyro) detects temperature changes due to the pyroelectric effect, that is, it outputs differential output, this thermopile sensor can detect the absolute value of temperature due to the thermoelectromotive force effect.
