About This Product

It is a clean sterilization method because the sterilization of water due to ultraviolet rays does not require large facilities and large heat as a heat -sterilized bold and does not affect water quality like chemical sterilization.

■ Mechanism of UV sterilization

All living things, including bacteria and viruses, have DNA (nucleic acids) that control genetic information. When ultraviolet rays are irradiated, the DNA absorbs the ultraviolet rays, destroys the genetic code of the DNA, and is unable to proliferate, so it is killed (inactivated). The wavelength of ultraviolet rays that is easily absorbed by DNA is around 260Nm. Therefore, for ultraviolet sterilization, sterilization is performed using 254 nm, which is close to 260 nm.
