About This Product

■Squib connector for automotive airbags

In recent years, in order to further improve the safety performance of automobiles, it has become increasingly important to ensure safety that includes not only passengers but also pedestrians. Therefore, in addition to the conventional driver and passenger seats, airbags are now being installed in various locations such as the side and rear seats, and even the front of the car for pedestrians, and the number is expected to increase further in the future. will be done. A type of squib (ignition device) connector for inflators of automotive airbags, called AK2, has been adopted as standard in Europe and the United States, and is being expanded globally. However, many of these connectors have a structure that guarantees complete mating by inserting a part called CPA (Connector Mating Position Assurance), which requires two operations. In addition, there were problems such as incomplete mating due to half-insertion of the CPA in areas where visual confirmation of mating was not possible. Against this background, we have developed the MX72A/B series, an AK2-compliant squib connector for automotive airbags that can be fully mated in one operation. The "MX72 series" connector is a fully mating type connector with a half-mating prevention mechanism that uses the reaction force of a spring. There is a click when mating, and the mating can be confirmed with a single operation, which improves work efficiency and prevents incomplete mating, helping to improve the reliability of airbag devices. In addition, in order to accommodate multiple use, three types of keys are available to prevent incorrect mating, and are designed to prevent incorrect insertion. *This product is sold as a cable harness and is not available as a separate connector. *CPA: Connector Position Assurance (a method of confirming complete mating by inserting another part last when mating a connector)
