About This Product

This is an encoder with a new concept that is completely different from conventional optical and magnetic encoders. A particular feature is that the mover (head) does not require a power supply line, making it easy to route cables and creating an ideal system.

■Ultra-thin and compact

The thickness of the sensor part is only 0.2mm, so it can be installed even in small gaps in the machine.

■Flexible

It is possible to arrange the scale and head in a cylindrical shape around the rotating shaft.

■Easy installation

Optical encoders use the reflection of a laser beam focused on a single point, which can lead to errors due to dust, etc., and require strict installation accuracy. In contrast, electrostatic encoders use the entire area of ​​the sensor section to detect signals, so they can operate without any problems even if there is some dirt or the like, or if the sensor section is slightly misaligned.

■Low power consumption

There is no emitting element, and there is no device that flows a large current.

■High reliability

Since the signal line is pulled out from the scale side, there is no risk of wire breakage. Furthermore, since the sensor part consists only of electrodes, it can be used in high-temperature environments.
