A research group centered at Tohoku University Hospital has developed a method for testing skin sensitizers, IL-8 Luciferase assay (IL-8 Luc method) was developed. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has approved this method as one of the international skin sensitization testing methods for chemicals (OECD TG 442E). ATTO's microplate type luminometer AB-2350 Ferios is standard compatible with the multicolor luminescence measurement used in the IL-8 Luc assay, which is an alternative to animal experiments for skin sensitization testing. It's a luminometer.

Due to the recent development of various applied technologies using bioluminescence and chemiluminescence, various functions are now required of luminescence measurement devices. AB-2350 PHELIOS is a luminescence measurement device exclusively for microplates that uses an optical system with high light collection efficiency and has the ability to identify and quantify multiple luminescent colors.
