About This Product

The PrintRite3D Real-time Defect Monitoring System is a melt pool temperature measurement device specifically designed for powder bed metal 3D printers. Detects and predicts abnormalities from heat measurements of melt pools. This allows real-time adjustments to the manufacturing process, further guaranteeing process quality, and reducing manufacturing costs. Manufacturers producing parts for high-risk and demanding industries such as aerospace need to ensure that these parts are manufactured accurately and have confidence that they will not fail. There are two ways to prove that parts manufactured using additive manufacturing meet quality assurance standards. One is destructive testing and the other is computer thermography (CT). Destructive testing allows us to confirm the quality of the individual tested, but this does not apply to all parts. CT is expensive, time-consuming, and does not always give accurate results when there are complex geometries within the part. PrintRite3D identifies the thermal properties (In-Process Quality Metrics: IPQM) of the metal materials that are deposited while the part is being manufactured. This allows defects to be mapped in real time. Part design can also be optimized using specific IPQM thermal signatures
