About This Product

Sapphire is a material that has higher thermal conductivity and a higher refractive index than synthetic quartz. Thermal lens effect is caused by the temperature distribution on the optical component that occurs when the optical component absorbs laser light, but sapphire optical components have high thermal conductivity, so the thermal lens effect is less pronounced than that of synthetic quartz. It has the property of being difficult to wake up. Also, because it has a high refractive index, it is possible to manufacture lenses with a larger radius of curvature than synthetic quartz when trying to manufacture the same lens. As a result, spherical aberration can be suppressed, and the lens itself can be made thinner, which has a positive effect on suppressing thermal lens effects.
