About This Product

Fully retractable resolver with bearing/shaft, 1in diameter speed 1X transformer (360°+ mechanical) redundancy

■Product overview

The resolver converts the mechanical shaft position into an electrical signal representing the actual shaft angle. These are variable transformers and the stator has two phase windings that are mechanically moved by 90°. The output is two sinusoids, the phase of which is shifted by 90°. Achieve non-contact measurements for 360° sensing, enhanced accuracy, resolution, and repeatability, even in harsh environments. Resolvers do not require electronic components and are therefore not susceptible to performance variations in harsh environments and are generally preferred over electronic sensors (e.g. optical encoders, potentiometers, magnetic encoders/sensors). Resolvers are inherently radiation hardened to provide highly robust EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) performance. Honeywell's Hawk™ 1in series resolvers are durable, reliable, non-contact absolute position sensors with an operating temperature range of -50.8°C to 93.3°C [-60°F to 200°F]. Therefore, it has potential for use in defense and aerospace applications. The manufacturing process shortens lead time and allows for customization. Honeywell uses the same components in all standard constructions of Hawk™ 1-inch series resolvers, increasing manufacturing speed and reducing lead times. This allows Honeywell to produce standard manufacturing quality devices in 12 weeks, compared to 20 to 22 weeks for competitors' manufacturing processes. Additionally, Honeywell's manufacturing processes and various product features allow customers to customize resolvers to meet the accuracy and size requirements of their specific applications. Resolver competitors may only provide support in their manufacturing region or have limited support outside of their manufacturing region.
