The BPS series is an automotive-grade pressure sensor that detects and notifies thermal runaway in lithium-ion batteries. A combination of MEMS (semiconductor sensor) and ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) technology detects pressure changes in battery packs for electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage systems (ESS), and transmits the values ​​via CAN to BMS (battery control system). will be transmitted to. The BPS series, which measures absolute pressure in the 50-300 kPa range, has configurable warning thresholds for both absolute pressure and rate of pressure change. It has excellent performance and reliability that enables early detection of thermal runaway in lithium-ion battery packs.

Equipped with an AEC-Q100 compliant IC and meeting automotive application requirements, the BPS series is also suitable for applications that require more stringent quality and reliability. The BPS series is RoHS compliant.

Working mode
■Sensor functions for each operation modeEco mode: When the voltage of the setting terminal is set low. . The sensor wakes up for 15 ms and then pauses for 985 ms (nominal) to reduce power consumption during the 1 second measurement cycle (1 second is the default value). CAN communication is turned off in eco mode. If the absolute pressure or rate of pressure change exceeds a threshold, it sends a wake-up signal to the BMS (Battery Control System), which initiates a system check of the entire battery.
