About This Product

■High durability

Highly durable wood for sleepers made from Australian eucalyptus species (ironbark, spotted gum, blue gum, etc.). Durability is Class-1 or 2 (*) according to the standards of the Australian Railway Bureau. *Durability of core material part is expected to be over 15 years under ground conditions.

■Creosote-free

It does not contain the preservative creosote, so you can use it safely in your garden.

■Quality

Since it has never been used as a railway sleeper, it has almost no deterioration like used sleepers that were actually used as sleepers. There may be individual differences such as larger roundness, a higher proportion of white fat, cracks and missing cores, but this is not a problem for use in gardening.

■Example of construction of old and new sleepers

It can be used as a cover for entrances and approaches, or as frames for gateposts and flower beds. It can also be used for private parking lots.

■Notes

・Wood is sensitive to moisture, and if it comes into direct contact with soil, it is susceptible to rot and insect attack. When constructing the area, please make sure it has good drainage and take measures such as laying gravel or curing it with a sheet. - Because it is made of natural wood, its durability will vary depending on the environment. ・As it is a natural solid wood, insects may be present. We cannot be held responsible for any deterioration caused by insects, etc. ・As it is made of natural wood, some items may crack or warp over time. Please be aware of this in advance.

■For you to enjoy natural wood sleepers for a longer time

We recommend that you use preservative paint and termiticide in advance and perform regular maintenance. If you are concerned about corrosion, we recommend applying a preservative. We recommend applying it to ground areas and areas where wood overlaps. (Insects prefer humidity and soil.)

■Request regarding unloading (charter delivery)

As sleepers are extremely heavy, please be sure to be present when receiving your shipment and help unload it. If possible, please prepare heavy equipment.

■About quality standards for sleepers

Sleepers are made of wood that is resistant to rot and has a high termite-proofing ability, but these cannot be guaranteed.
