■Be sure to drill a "pilot hole".

Another thing to keep in mind is that when drilling pilot holes, the edges of the wood are more likely to break. As for the depth of the pilot hole, it is OK to drill a pilot hole a little under the stacked wood.

The length of the screw (screw, coarse thread) must be approximately twice the length of the wood to be fixed.
