About This Product

■ Applications

・Measures moisture content in oils such as heavy oil and lubricating oil. Can be used for monitoring moisture content and controlling alarms. ・Since the dielectric constants of oil and water differ significantly (oil: approximately 2-3 / water: approximately 80), the oil's dielectric constant is measured and the moisture content is continuously measured based on this change. ・Oil is passed through a coaxial cylindrical electrode. A single calibration is performed for each oil type, enabling highly accurate and stable moisture measurement. ・Features include temperature compensation and compatibility with multiple oil types.

■ Features

・The converter and display are integrated into a compact, easy-to-use unit. ・The simple electrode structure minimizes pressure loss and extends product life. ・The use of a high-precision capacitance transducer ensures stable moisture measurement. ・Temperature compensation eliminates measurement errors even when the oil temperature changes (e.g., from room temperature to 60°C). ・The display has an oil type registration function, making it compatible with a wide variety of oils.

■ Operating Principle

・When the sensor (electrode) is filled with only oil, the transducer will indicate "2." On the other hand, when filled with only water, it will indicate "80." (This detects the difference in dielectric constant: 80 is the dielectric constant of water, and 2 is that of oil.) ・If even a single drop of water is added in this state, the transducer will significantly shift to the positive side. This is the difference that the moisture meter detects. ・If the transducer is adjusted to indicate "0V" when only oil is present and "1V" when 1% water is present in the oil, it will indicate "2V" when 2% water is present. ・In other words, the capacitance changes linearly with moisture.
