■Needs for high frequency bolt heaters
Power generation turbine casings are used under high pressure and require high tightening force. Therefore, after tightening the bolt by heating it, the tension is increased by utilizing the contraction when the bolt returns to room temperature.
Bolts that have been tightened with such strong force must be heated and stretched in the same way as when tightening, and cannot be loosened with tools alone when loosening bolts for periodic inspections or repairs. Overhaul inspections are themselves tasks that require a great deal of time, effort, and money, but because they are performed with power generation stopped, electricity must be purchased during the inspection period.
Long-term inspection work will greatly reduce profitability, so each work must be done in a short time, but the work of installing and removing bolts, which can range from dozens to over 100, takes a large part of the work. I am. However, with conventional heating methods such as electric heaters, not only does it take time to heat up, but the nut is also heated and stretched due to heat conduction, making it difficult to obtain the clearance necessary to loosen it and having to wait for the nut to cool before redoing it. This often happened and became a bottleneck process.
To solve this problem, Gemix conducted its own research and development, and we introduced this technology and succeeded in applying high-frequency induction heating, which allows work to be done efficiently in a short period of time. The resulting reduction in work time and other results have been highly praised by customers and construction companies.
