About This Product

Desktop Series is a desktop type FFF 3D printer that supports carbon fiber. It also has the ease of use that is unique to FFF 3D printers, and while ensuring high-quality modeling, continuous carbon fibers are layered inside the model to provide high strength and impact resistance that can be used as jigs and functional prototypes. You can create parts with a certain character. This printing method is unique to Markforged and produces parts that are much stronger than parts normally printed with a 3D printer. This 3D printer for production sites has greatly expanded the scope of use of 3D printers, going beyond the 3D printer's main use of "prototyping" to include jigs, customized tools, and final products. ■Applying long fiber carbon fiber to 3D printers Apply the properties of carbon fiber, which is light and strong, using a 3D printer. It has high tensile strength and bending strength similar to aluminum, and is lighter than aluminum. It is expected that the product will be lighter and stronger. ■3D printer as a jig production machine By using carbon fiber, the created objects can achieve high strength and rigidity. It can also be used in parts where strength and precision are required, such as jigs and tools used in production equipment. Compared to machining MC nylon or aluminum, lead time and costs can be significantly reduced. ■Insert modeling It is possible to stop modeling midway through, and it is possible to insert nuts, magnets, etc. inside the part. You can set to stop printing at any position from the dedicated software, and you will receive an email notification when it stops. It is also possible to insert metal parts into taps that are used repeatedly or parts that wear out. ■ONYX By blending nylon resin with short carbon fibers (chopped carbon) approximately 100 μm in length, it achieves higher strength than ABS and PLA normally used in 3D printers. ■Long fiber fiber In a process called CFR (Continuous Lamination Technology), long fibers coated with thermoplastic resin are placed inside the part to provide further reinforcement.
