About This Product
■Characteristics
A halogen lamp contains a small amount (about 0.1%) of a halogen element (mainly bromine) in a filled gas whose main component is inert gas. This causes a chemical cycle called the halogen cycle. This circulation eliminates the blackening phenomenon that occurs with conventional incandescent light bulbs, resulting in a longer lifespan and constant brightness.
The advantage of using halogen lamps in aircraft is that they do not require transformers or voltage converters, so they can be lighter. In addition, halogen lamps generate heat on their own, so they can continue to emit light without freezing, even at extremely high altitudes.
