RS5C372 is a CMOS real-time clock that sends time and calendar data to the CPU via serial transfer. Connection with the CPU is made using two signal lines, and various interrupt clocks can be selected, including a long-time (1 month) interrupt generation function. It also has two built-in alarm functions (day of week, hour, minute) that generate alarm interrupts at set times.
Since the oscillation circuit is driven at a constant voltage, there is little voltage fluctuation and low current consumption (TYP. 0.5µA at 3V) is achieved. It also has an oscillation stop detection function that can be used to determine data validity at power-on, etc., and a 32kHz clock output for external microcontrollers.
(Ver. A: Nch open drain output, Ver. B: CMOS) Furthermore, it has a built-in clock error correction circuit that corrects errors in the crystal oscillation frequency using signals from the CPU and adjusts the clock with high precision. . Either 32.768kHz or 32.000kHz crystals can be used. The package is an 8-pin SSOP, making it ideal for devices that require small size and low power consumption.
