About This Product

■Summary

R2051 is a CMOS IC that has a regular real-time clock function plus a backup switching circuit and voltage detector. Connection with the host is based on the I2C bus and is performed using two signal lines (SCL, SDA). As an interrupt generation function, you can select 6 types of interrupt signals from 1 month to 0.5 seconds. Furthermore, it has two built-in alarm functions that generate interrupts at set times. It also has a power supply voltage monitoring function that allows you to select the threshold voltage from two voltages, and a 32.768kHz clock output (CMOS output) function for the subclock of an external microcontroller. Furthermore, it has a built-in clock error correction circuit that uses signals from the host to correct errors in the crystal oscillation frequency and adjust the clock with high precision. The oscillation circuit contains elements other than the crystal resonator. In addition, since it is driven at a constant voltage, there is little voltage fluctuation in frequency and low current consumption (TYP. 0.4 µA at 3 V) is achieved. The backup switching circuit is a function that automatically switches between the main power source and the primary or secondary battery backup battery power source. Switching is performed by monitoring the main power supply voltage, so it can be used regardless of the backup battery power supply voltage. Packages include SSOP16, TSSOP10G, and small QFN023023-16.
