About This Product
This is a transformer that uses grain-oriented electrical steel sheets (Orient) and non-oriented electrical steel sheets (Highlight), and is mainly used at frequencies of 50/60Hz. Single-phase 100/200V and three-phase 200V are commonly used, but 300V and 400V custom products are also possible depending on the application. The drawers include lead wires, terminal blocks, crimp terminals, lug terminals, terminal blocks, and collinear lines. We can manufacture single-phase, three-phase, tapped, auto transformers, high voltage transformers, etc.
■About power transformer
Single winding: Generally called an auto transformer. This is a transformer with a structure where input and output are taken out from one continuous winding. It is ideal for miniaturization, but the input and output are not separated.
Compound winding: This is called an isolation transformer as opposed to an autotransformer. A transformer whose input and output are electrically separated. Suitable for taking out independent outputs when electrical isolation is required.
■Points for determining size
The temperature of a power transformer is determined mostly by the temperature rise resulting from the relationship between magnetic flux density Bm and current density A/?. Furthermore, the temperature rise is greatly influenced by the core material. Economically, non-oriented silicon steel sheets are the best choice, but grain-oriented silicon steel sheets are the best choice for reducing voltage fluctuations and temperature rises and downsizing. Also, if there is no constant input or constant output, please provide us with the information as it is possible to reduce the Bm and A/? to the temperature rise limit depending on the conditions. Unless otherwise specified, we will design according to JIS standards.
■Capacity calculation
The capacity of a power transformer is determined from the sum of the products of each voltage and current on the secondary side.
■Key points for safety measures
There are various standards such as DETRO, UL, CSA, and IEC as safety measures for power transformers, so please specify them if necessary. To prevent fires and electric shocks, it is necessary to take measures such as bobbin construction and insertion of thermal fuses to ensure creepage distance between electrodes. When inserting a thermal fuse on the primary side, the primary current value is less than 100% of the efficiency for (transformer power VA) ÷ primary voltage, so please allow a margin of around 30 to 60%. We also recommend using a time-lag blowing type fuse (JISC6575, TS, TL) to deal with transient phenomena when the input power is turned on.
