About This Product

This transformer is designed to protect expensive equipment from lightning. When a lightning strike occurs on a power transmission line, a surge voltage (impulse) of an order of magnitude is generated, and the accompanying surge current can reach a level that can destroy the circuits of electronic devices. In some cases, the current exceeds 100,000 A for a microsecond. Even in ordinary households, we often hear that a nearby lightning strike has damaged the home's TV or air conditioner, and this is often the reason. Currently, most circuits in electronic devices use semiconductors, which can be destroyed in an instant. A lightning-resistant transformer is a transformer that protects expensive equipment that serves as a load by grounding incoming lightning surges to the shield plate built into the transformer, allowing the surge to escape to the ground. Its performance is: Noise attenuation: -40 to -60db (attenuates up to 1/1,000th) As a preliminary measure to protect your important equipment, we recommend installing a lightning-resistant transformer.
