About This Product

■Overview of samarium cobalt magnets

A binary alloy of samarium and cobalt that has a high magnetic energy product. Samarium cobalt magnets have a very long history as magnets and are still widely used today. Until the advent of neodymium magnets, samarium cobalt magnets were known to have the highest magnetic force. Compared to neodymium magnets, the amount of raw materials produced is small and it is expensive, but it has excellent thermal stability and corrosion resistance. Features of samarium cobalt magnets

■Has a very strong magnetic force

Among permanent magnets, samarium cobalt magnets have the second strongest magnetic force after neodymium magnets.

■Not easy to rust

Because it has high corrosion resistance, there is no need for anti-rust treatment such as plating.

■Heat resistant

Samarium cobalt magnets have an extremely high Curie temperature of 700°C to 800°C, which is more than 7 times that of neodymium magnets. It can be used as a magnet even in high temperature environments of up to 350 degrees Celsius.

■Easy to chip

This magnet has lower mechanical strength than other magnets and is brittle and easily chipped.
