About This Product

■Fourier transform photoluminescence spectrophotometer IR5 Product overview

The IR5 (manufactured by Edinburgh Instruments) is a high-sensitivity, tabletop spectrophotometer that is the only one in its class that is optionally compatible with Fourier Transform Photoluminescence (FT-PL). This device, which combines absorption measurement in the MIR region and PL measurement, can be used in demanding research applications. It is especially suitable for analytical and research applications such as polymer, semiconductor, and pharmaceutical samples, offering easy operation and fast, accurate results. All measurements of infrared absorption, transmittance, reflectance, and infrared photoluminescence can be performed on the dedicated software "Miracle™".

■Wavelength dispersion type (diffraction grating dispersion type) Advantages compared to PL

1. Simultaneous measurement of multiple wavelengths reduces measurement time 2. Spectral measurement time less than 1/100 compared to wavelength scanning dispersive PL spectrometer 3. High throughput (no slit) 4. High fractional resolution IR generally treats infrared light as wave numbers, but dispersive spectrometers record spectra in wavelength units. Therefore, the resulting spectrum is no longer linear with respect to the horizontal axis (cm-1).

■Upgrade to support FT-photoluminescence (PL) method

An external laser is focused on the sample on a dedicated sample holder, and the photoluminescence that passes through the interferometer is collected. PL can be detected with a standard DLaTGS detector, but a second detector can be added for higher sensitivity measurements.
