■Product overview

pco.edge is a revolutionary imaging camera equipped with sCMOS (scientific CMOS), which is said to be a new era CMOS image sensor. This camera combines high resolution, low readout noise, high frame rate, and wide dynamic range, which are not found in conventional CMOS and CCD cameras. pco.edge5.5 features high resolution and switching between global shutter and rolling shutter modes. Color camera options are also available. pco.edge4.2 features high QE, low read noise, and wide dynamic range. In addition, several types of high-precision synchronization modes can be selected, supporting various applications for mounting on a microscope. Bringing to light - A camera that expands the possibility of clarifying measurements, observations, and analyzes that were previously difficult.

■Excellent image quality

Equipped with an sCMOS sensor, pco.edge has an excellent low readout noise performance of 1.1e-median. Even at the maximum speed of 100fps (all pixel readout), readout noise is kept below 1.5e-median. Furthermore, sophisticated circuit technology and firmware algorithms provide excellent performance in terms of sensitivity non-uniformity (PRNU) and dark output non-uniformity (DSNU).

■Dynamic range approaching 16 bits

One of the features of pco.edge is its wide dynamic range. sCMOS image sensors have excellent low noise performance and high saturation charge capacity. In addition, pco.edge is equipped with two types of signal amplifiers with different gains and an 11-bit AD converter to synthesize each signal and output it in 16 bits. As a result, dynamic range is maximized while readout noise is minimized.
