About This Product
■Super engineering plastic polyimide
Polyimide resin, a highly functional material with excellent heat and cold resistance, is called a super engineering plastic and is used as an indispensable material in many industrial fields. Special chemical treatment is required to use polyimide resin as a coating material, and Nakada Coating was the first to succeed in mass producing an aqueous polyimide precursor solution.
■Application of polyimide to paints
Polyimide is mainly used as a film. At our company, we have conducted research and development to use materials with excellent performance in coatings rather than films, and have now succeeded in turning them into paints. The major difference from film is that it can cover even uneven surfaces. It is now possible to handle shapes that could not previously be covered with film, greatly expanding the possibilities of polyimide. In addition, by blending with various resins, it is possible to add functionality such as improved adhesion to various types of workpieces.
*This product paint is subject to the Import and Export Trade Control Order. For export, application and permission are required from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Our sales are only in Japan.
■Water-based PTFE polyimide heat-resistant paint Imitron #500
PTFE is commonly used as a fluororesin coating. Originally, it has high heat resistance (260℃), but by adding polyimide, the heat resistance increases to 400℃, which is the same as polyimide.By dramatically improving heat resistance, the applications of fluororesin are expanded.
■Features
・Fluororesin dispersion and water-based polyimide resin (anionic type) mix very well and maintain a stable liquid state.
- By changing the blending ratio of resins, it is possible to create water-based paints with resin compositions containing a large amount of fluororesin or polyimide resin.
・PTFE and water-based polyimide react when heated, and PTFE, which has a low surface tension, is formed on the surface side of the coating film to form a fluorine coating film, and polyimide is oriented toward the material side, giving it adhesion to the material. A one-coat fluorine resin paint that firmly holds PTFE from the bottom.
- Taking advantage of polyimide's heat resistance, it forms an ideal fluorine coating that exhibits PTFE's mold release, slipperiness, water repellency, and insulation properties at high temperatures.
