About This Product

■Super engineering plastic polyimide

Polyimide resin, a highly functional material with excellent heat and cold resistance, is called a super engineering plastic and is used as an indispensable material in many industrial fields. Special chemical treatment is required to use polyimide resin as a coating material, and Nakada Coating was the first to succeed in mass producing an aqueous polyimide precursor solution. The polyimide precursor aqueous solution transforms into polyimide resin with excellent heat resistance and insulation properties by applying heat during coating baking.

■Application of polyimide to paints

Polyimide is mainly used as a film. At our company, we have conducted research and development to use materials with excellent performance in coatings rather than films, and have now succeeded in turning them into paints. Water-based paints that do not use solvents that place a burden on the environment include polyimide precursor resin aqueous solution [Imitron PI-W-20], epoxy polyimide paint [Imitron #300], PTFE polyimide paint [Imitron #500], urethane silicone paint, etc. We manufacture and sell polyimide paint [Imitron #700]. The major difference from film is that it can cover even uneven surfaces. It is now possible to handle shapes that could not previously be covered with film, greatly expanding the possibilities of polyimide. In addition, by blending with various resins, it is possible to add functionality such as improved adhesion to various types of workpieces. *This product paint is subject to the Import and Export Trade Control Order. For export, application and permission are required from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Our sales are only in Japan.

By combining epoxy resin, which has excellent insulation and adhesion properties, with polyimide, a super engineering plastic, we manufacture and sell next-generation functional paints that have heat resistance that epoxy resins lack.

■Features

・There are two types of Imitron #300 series. ・Imitron #300 IX-3: Contains hard epoxy resin and forms a highly hard coating film. ・Imitron #300 IX-5: Forms a coating film with strong adhesion and flexibility.
