About This Product

Hydrotracer HT3 is a high-precision moisture meter for measuring low moisture content in solids. The precision of the patented measurement method, associated with relatively large sample volumes, allows the smallest moisture measurements with ppm resolution. The moisture content of a large number of granules, powders and foils can be determined.

HydroTracer is primarily used to measure residual moisture in plastic granules. Compliance with a specific moisture content before processing is a quality determining criterion. The absolute water content of the investigated material is determined chemically. Other volatile components or additives do not affect the measurement results. This basic concept makes water the measurement method of choice.

The compact, robust design and simple operation enable use in production and mobile applications. HydroTracer is easy to use without special training.

Water vapor is replaced with hydrogen, and at the same time calcium hydride is transformed into calcium hydroxide (slaked lime). The air, which has been cooled and dehydrated, moves back to the lower reactor. Vertical pipes with special geometry create natural convection and air circulation.

This method allows even hygroscopic substances to be completely dried. The final hydrogen concentration produced in the reactor is therefore proportional to the amount of water present in the sample before the start of the measurement.

This measurement also includes the moisture present in the atmosphere. Therefore, it is necessary to know the humidity and air density in the atmosphere to obtain accurate measurement results. Therefore, it incorporates multiple sensors that measure humidity, temperature, and pressure in the atmosphere. The software analyzes these data to calculate the humidity in the atmosphere and corrects the final measurement results. Hydrogen concentration is measured using a gas thermal conductivity detection sensor.
