About This Product

■Summary

The MS GAS-100 is a compact benchtop gas analyzer with mass spectrometry detection designed for complex analysis of gases and volatiles such as isotopes, solvents, and volatile organic compounds. Modular inlets, a highly sensitive mass spectrometer, and primarily a unique freezing system allow for weeks of continuous operation. It can be used for many applications in biotechnology such as plants, algae, yeast, bacteria, biochemical methods, environmental analysis, and many other related fields.

■Features

Two types of detectors are available for the system: Farraday, which has a sensitivity of less than 10 ppm, and a continuous secondary electron multiplier (C-SEM), which has a sensitivity of less than 100 ppb. The combination of the diaphragm backing pump MVP and the turbomolecular pump HiPaceSplitFlow provides a highly effective vacuum pumping system. The thermostatic heating element performs a vacuum chamber bake to clean up from unwanted impurities within the mass spectrometer. The electronically controlled Stirling cooler suppresses the water molecule background very efficiently, greatly extending the life of the ion source. Additionally, the water trap temperature is user-definable, allowing monitoring of special volatile species. Modular inlet options include membrane probes, needle inlets, and gas dosing valves (manual). Membrane probe inlets allow small amounts of dissolved species to pass through. This type of inlet is suitable for analysis of liquid samples and gaseous environments. The needle valve inlet is designed for direct measurement of volatile substances in gaseous samples. The basic version MSGAS-100 is equipped with a high vacuum pressure sensor to measure the total pressure inside the vacuum chamber and an inlet pressure sensor to ensure protection of the mass spectrometer.
