■“PhotoSnap” to ensure product traceability
In English, the word "traceable" means "able to be traced," but in the manufacturing field, this word means "able to trace the process by which a product has been made." It is used to mean that you can know when, where, by whom, from what, and how something was made. Providing traceability for a product can provide peace of mind to customers who purchase the product, and also make it clear who is responsible in the unlikely event that a product accident occurs.
"PhotoSnap" is a camera system developed to achieve this kind of traceability. A number of cameras are installed along the path of products and parts, and the process of making each product is photographed. Photos taken are automatically uploaded to a designated storage location, and can be easily searched later using the "heading tag" added at the time of shooting.
"PhotoSnap" was designed with special emphasis on two things: (1) it can be introduced at a variety of manufacturing sites, and (2) it does not increase the burden on the site during operation. It can be said that it is one of the easiest solutions to implement.
