■Low-priced high-speed camera system “Shun Hunter”
Up until now, high-speed cameras have been commonly used to observe rapid phenomena that cannot be captured by the human eye. Using a high-speed camera that can capture more than 10,000 frames (each still image that makes up a video, so-called "frames") per second, it is possible to record, for example, a bullet fired from a handgun. You can.
However, high-speed cameras made of special parts tend to be large and expensive equipment. Also, not everyone who needs high-speed shooting is looking for 10,000FPS (frames per second), and many people are satisfied with a speed of 500FPS. For such people, conventional high-speed cameras were over-spec equipment.
On the other hand, industrial cameras used in factories, etc., have rapidly become more sophisticated and less expensive over the past few years. There are some devices that are priced below 100,000 yen and yet have speeds of 500 FPS or more. Therefore, we have developed software that connects an industrial camera to a typical Windows PC and allows it to operate at high speed, making it possible to use it as a low-cost high-speed camera. This is "Moment Hunter".
