■“TargetWatcher” investigates the cause of persistent “chocostops”

"TargetWatcher" is a camera system for troubleshooting problems that occur on production lines and manufacturing machines. By capturing the cause and symptoms of a problem with a camera and saving it as a video file, you can investigate the cause of the problem and prevent it from happening again (troubleshooting). The first step in troubleshooting is to investigate the cause, and the key to investigating the cause is observing the trouble. However, in the past, it was difficult to put this basic idea into practice. This is because it is not always easy to observe the causes and symptoms of trouble because you do not know when or where they will appear. Various efforts have been made for troubleshooting at manufacturing sites. Some of these efforts included efforts to utilize camera systems (high-speed cameras, security cameras, home video cameras, dashcams, etc.). However, these products were not originally created for troubleshooting purposes. As a result, despite spending a great deal of money and effort, the expected results were often not achieved. "TargetWatcher" was created to overcome this situation. "TargetWatcher" is a camera system planned and designed for the purpose of troubleshooting, and has the functions and features required by "detectives" who tenaciously track and corner troubles. Among the troubles that occur on production lines and manufacturing machines, minor ones that can be repaired at the field level are called ``choco-stops,'' and troubles that are more serious than choco-stops are called ``doka-stops.'' Choco-stops are easier to restore than doka-stops, so they are often not taken seriously and fundamental preventive measures are not taken. However, although the loss per stop is small for the frequently occurring Choco stop, in the long run it causes a greater loss than the Doka stop. When we carefully evaluated the impact of short-term shutdowns that occur throughout a factory, we found that in some cases, they were causing losses of more than 10 million yen each year. "TargetWatcher" will be your secret weapon to eradicate such "chocolate stops".
