Taiyo Kogyo was the first company in Japan to develop and announce copper inlay substrates, which are becoming a trend in heat dissipation and are gaining widespread recognition in Japan. Taiyo Kogyo's copper inlay substrates are used in a wide range of fields, and are especially used as important parts in vehicles that affect human life. In recent years, heat generation has been increasing as the mounted components have become more sophisticated and functional, and heat countermeasures are important from the perspective of maintaining the performance and extending the life of electronic equipment. Furthermore, as parts become smaller, it is no longer possible to expect heat to be dissipated from the body of the part itself, and the heat dissipation path is also changing so that heat escapes to the circuit board pattern. To address these issues, Taiyo Kogyo proposes a "copper inlay board" that achieves effective heat dissipation by press-fitting copper directly under heat-generating components.

■Features of copper inlay board

・By press-fitting copper directly under heat-generating parts, heat can be effectively dissipated. ・Realization of extremely cost-effective heat removal method - Compared to aluminum heat dissipation boards, the coefficient of linear expansion of copper is lower, improving the reliability of soldered joints. ・Compared to aluminum heat dissipation boards, design flexibility is improved because high multilayer boards and double-sided mounting boards can be used. ・Improved circuit efficiency due to increased freedom in component placement ・Miniaturization ・By eliminating the need to tighten screws on each heat-generating component, reliability can be improved, costs can be reduced, assembly man-hours can be reduced, and QCD can all be satisfied. ・SMD and lead components can have the same heat dissipation structure
