About This Product

■Product information

Useful for measuring the charge amount of small particle carriers and toner developers that are difficult to separate using conventional blow-off methods. The toner is separated from the carrier using the rotational vibration energy and electric field created by the rotation of the magnet built into the sleeve, and the amount of charge on the toner is measured. The main body and power supply electrometer section are separated and miniaturized to provide a low-cost, compact measuring device with only the necessary functions while maintaining the same basic performance.

■Measurement principle

While applying rotational vibration to the developing material by the rotation of a magnetic roller built into the sleeve, the toner is separated from the carrier by a flying electric field applied between measurement electrodes, and the amount of charge on the toner is measured.

■Features

・Easy measurement with less than 0.3g of measurement sample - Since the measurement principle is the same as the development process, it can be correlated with image performance evaluations such as image density and background fog on actual equipment. ・Easy to measure the amount of charge of small particle carrier and toner developer materials that are difficult to separate using the blow-off method. ・It is also effective as a tool for evaluating the charging characteristics of two-component developing materials, selecting toners and carriers, and developing development process conditions.

■Evaluation measurement items using electric field flying charge amount measuring device

・Average toner charge amount. Measures the amount of charge and separation rate of flying toner in a constant electric field. ・Evaluation of reversely charged toner. By applying a reverse electric field, it is possible to check whether there is reversely charged toner and how to deal with background fog. - Amount of scattered toner due to charging failure. Presence of toner scattering without electric field, ground fog, and countermeasures against in-machine scattering - Toner flying and rising properties. Monitors toner flying in a constant electric field every 0.1 seconds (optional: when using data acquisition logger) ・Measurement of toner concentration and charge amount of developer material in each part of the developing device. Stirring and mixing state of developer material in developing device. Easy measurement with less than 0.3g of measurement sample

■Measurement example

- Average toner charge amount can be easily measured with 0.3g of developer material required. Reproducibility +/-1~2μc/g ・Measurement conditions: 2kV applied, Mg rotation speed 2,000Rpm, 30sec
