■Product description
This test set is used to monitor electrode loads on spot welding equipment. This set consists of a pressure transducer and a display device. A pressure transducer is held between the electrodes to test the force acting between them. The concave pressure introduction surface becomes the center of the pressure transducer. When the welding electrodes meet, the amount of load applied can be read from the display.
The force transducer is designed as a shear beam load cell. It is not affected by lateral forces or moments. The output signal is sent to the indicator via a cable. This cable also supplies the operating voltage to the force transducer. Alternatively, it is possible to take the supply voltage from the PLC.
This type of load cell incorporates proven thin film sensor technology. Laser-welded sensors have all the advantages of traditional adhesive film strain gauges, but are not subject to the main disadvantages (temperature behavior and creep of the adhesive).
■Calibration
The force transducer and indicator are calibrated together as a measuring chain. We recommend calibrating every 12 months. WIKA will carry out this service quickly and reliably.
