■Product explanation
A high-resolution magnetostrictive level sensor that uses magnetostrictive phenomena to continuously measure the liquid level by detecting the position of a magnetic float is installed outside the bypass level meter. The measurement is initiated when stimulated by a current impulse. The current flowing along the magnetostrictive lines in the sensor tube generates an annular magnetic field. A tubular float with a permanent magnet at the measurement point (at the liquid level) causes the magnetic field lines to intersect with the magnetic field of the impulse. The magnetic field of the float, which intersects at right angles and acts as a position transducer, pulls the wire.
The two superimposed magnetic fields cause mechanical waves in the wire.The mechanical waves that reach the end of the wire inside the sensor housing are converted into electrical signals by the piezo sensor. Once the starting position of the elastic wave is determined, the position of the float can be determined with high precision by measuring the elapsed time of propagation.
