Contact protection relays are used as connection devices in model 821. This contact protection relay increases the switching reliability and switching capacity of mechanical contacts and reduces contact voltage. The 0.5 second dropout delay significantly reduces unwanted switching movements within the contact device caused by vibrations.
On the other hand, the contacts operate under low voltage control, and the output side can operate under high loads. A contact protection relay consists of a power supply device, a control device, a switch amplifier, and a relay output mechanism. DC 35-40V is supplied to the contacts through the control unit. This allows for optimal contact protection and switch reliability over countless switch cycles.
Liquid ring pressure gauges with contacts generally use contact protection relays. Liquid ring types increase the service life of the mechanical measuring mechanism, but at the same time the connecting pins tend to wear out more quickly. The contact outputs, on the other hand, have an additional 24 V DC output power supply (max. 20 mA). This is used for example in LED control and converters. It can be used to monitor operations caused by inductive loads or capacitive loads as a safety measure.
