If it is desired to display very low pressures locally and at the same time send a signal to a central controller or remote control room, the model PGT63HP.1x0 intelliGAUGE (US Patent No. 8,030,990) is used. Process pressure can be reliably read even in the event of a complete loss of power. The capsule pressure gauge's rugged design provides overpressure safety up to 50 times the full scale value.
An electrical angle encoder, proven in safety-critical automotive applications, determines the position of the pointer axis. Since this is a non-contact sensor, there is no need to worry about wear or friction. An electrical output signal proportional to the pressure, e.g. 4 ... 20 mA, is thus generated. The zero point of the feedback signal can also be set manually. The electronic WIKA transmitter combines the advantages of an electrical signal transmitter with the advantages of an analogue display for on-site confirmation in a high-quality mechanical pressure gauge.
