About This Product

■SunS Flex Shaft

Flexible shafts are used in industry as an excellent means of transmitting rotational power to distant locations. It has a simple structure with no protective tube and only connecting fittings attached to both ends of the core (spring part). Suitable for power transmission over short distances.

■Advantages

Since the only component is the metal fittings at both ends, it is low cost and easy to accommodate special orders such as making all materials SUS. Small and compact design possible. For short distances, it may be possible to handle the same torque as with a tube.

■Disadvantages

If it is used over a certain length (as a guideline: core diameter x 30 mm), a twisting force will be applied, so the allowable transmission torque will be significantly lower than with a tube, and if overloaded, the entire core will twist, causing the core to twist. There is a risk of breakage. In other words, it is not suitable for long-distance power transmission.
