About This Product

■Product overview

・PERMA-FOIL® is a general term for flexible graphite sheets developed by Toyo Tanso using its own manufacturing technology. ・This is a sheet-shaped graphite product made by carefully selecting acid-treated natural graphite, subjecting it to high-temperature expansion treatment, and then compressing it. -Uses only natural graphite as a raw material, and has the characteristics of graphite such as heat resistance and chemical resistance, and is highly flexible. Furthermore, it has many other features such as high compression recovery rate, excellent airtightness, and high thermal conductivity.

■Flexibility/Flexibility

PERMA-FOIL® has a flexibility that conventional graphite products do not have, and can be bent flexibly, but it will not deform with slight bending.

■Thermal/electrical conductivity

PERMA-FOIL® exhibits excellent thermal and electrical conductivity in the plane direction.

■Heat resistance

PERMA-FOIL® does not use a binder and is manufactured using only natural graphite as a raw material, so it is stable in a wide temperature range from extremely low temperatures to ultra-high temperatures (-200℃ to 3,200℃ in an inert atmosphere). , it is possible to use.

■Chemical resistance

PERMA-FOIL® has excellent chemical resistance (acid and base) and is chemically stable, so it can be used in any environment.

■Lightweight

PERMA-FOIL® has a low density compared to other materials and is extremely lightweight.

■Self-lubricating property

PERMA-FOIL® has self-lubricating properties, so it has a lower coefficient of friction than other materials and is less prone to adhesion.

■Compression/restorability

It has flexibility and compression recovery properties not found in conventional graphite products, and is compatible with other materials, making it ideal as a sealing material or buffering agent.

■Easy to process

PERMA-FOIL® has the characteristic of being graphite yet soft, and can be easily cut with a cutter or other bladed tool, allowing it to be processed into various shapes.

■High purity possible

High-purity products treated at high temperatures with halogen gas have extremely high purity and are ideal for semiconductor and nuclear power-related parts.

■Product application example Electrochemistry

・PERMA-FOIL® has excellent electrical conductivity, so it can be used for electrochemical applications. It also has excellent heat resistance and chemical resistance, so it can be expected to be applied to devices used in all kinds of environments. ・Example of industries used: Various electrochemical devices such as various batteries and capacitors ・Use examples: electrode materials, current collectors
