About This Product

In order to prevent warping and cracking even under the heat and dryness of underfloor heating, a group of craftsmen from Kiso Hinoki, Japan's largest producer of cypress wood flooring, has passed rigorous tests using their well-versed skills and pushing themselves to the limit. Cypress is said to have a soft warmth and moderate hardness, so you don't need slippers. When you walk barefoot, you feel cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Because cypress has a low thermal conductivity, it is difficult for body heat to be taken away from your feet, making it comfortable to wear barefoot all year round. Furthermore, it has a high thermal diffusivity, so it heats up easily and has excellent heat retention when using floor heating. This also leads to lower running costs for utility bills. The air around your feet that is warmed by the floor heating naturally flows upwards and is taken into your body. Kouki is a single piece of solid wood that does not use adhesive to join. We are also particular about the finish, and we apply machine-applied ``unbleached beeswax'' made from beeswax and perilla sesame oil that does not use any chemicals. There is little worry about formaldehyde and VOC generation even when heated, and it is also effective in preventing sick house syndrome. Until now, the standard flooring for floor heating made of solid wood was 15mm thick. The reason for this is that thin and wide boards have a high deformation rate, so they are not suitable for underfloor heating where there are temperature changes. Using our patent-pending dry processing technology, we have completed a 12mm thick solid cypress flooring compatible with floor heating. Also ideal for renovations. Solid wood continues to breathe even after it becomes part of your home. It expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity, adjusting the indoor environment. However, on the other hand, problems such as ``warping'', ``cracks'', ``unruliness'', and ``gaps'' have been said. In order to minimize deformation, "Mukudan Koju" uses a unique drying technology using an original dryer to maintain a uniform moisture content (5-8%) and overcome problems such as warping and cracking. .
