About This Product

Thyristor brakes reduce the stopping time of three-phase induction motors. This is an epoch-making brake unit that can freely control speed and speed by passing a thyristor-controlled DC current through a general-purpose three-phase motor.

■What is thyristor brake?

By using a thyristor brake, a direct current is applied to the inertial force when stopping a machine to apply braking, allowing the machine to stop quickly. It can be used regardless of the machine size, such as drilling machines, traveling carts, lathe spindles, saws, rolling rollers, and polishing machines. This product is for three-phase motors used in companies and factories, so it cannot be used with single-phase motors for home use.

■Advantages

・Dangerous machines can be stopped quickly and safely ・Improved efficiency by reducing machine loss time by shortening downtime - Lower cost than inverters and mechanical brakes - If it comes with a relay, it can be easily installed in existing equipment. It requires almost no maintenance.

■Features

・Small and dynamic control ・Control torque and braking time can be adjusted over a wide range ・Easy to integrate into control panel ・Low price ・Compatible with motors from 0.1KW to 45KW ・A cheap three-phase induction motor can be used ・Can be installed even after installing the machine ・Easy to add brake function ・Easy maintenance (almost not required) - Equipped with a transformer has little effect on power supply ・Power supply current is small for models with transformer

■About protection of transformer

The transformers used in thyristor brakes are designed for short-time ratings. The specification is to turn on electricity for 10 seconds at 10 minute intervals. Therefore, if the maximum current is applied for even 10 seconds, it will become quite hot. To protect this, use a thermal relay. Set the current value by actually operating it. Set the current value to be slightly larger than the operating current value. Thermal relays also operate due to heat, but the second operation will take less time even with the same current. If you want to repeat the operation, please wait a little while before starting the operation again.

■Power supply used: 400V class

Applicable to motor rated voltages of 380V, 400V, and 440V. The maximum rated voltage can be used up to 440V.
