A bolt with a hexagonal hole in the head. Also called a cap screw or cap bolt, it is widely used for general fastening of machines and vehicles. Since it is tightened with a hex wrench, it is difficult to cam out and can be tightened under high load and high torque. Compared to hexagonal bolts, the head is smaller and takes up less space, as well as less space for fastening. Therefore, it is useful when multiple locations must be fastened in close proximity, and the device itself can be further downsized.
