■Summary ndor's new iKon-XL is an ultra-large area electronically cooled CCD camera platform with a wide field of view sensor ideal for astronomy applications requiring long exposures. Patent-pending ColdSpace™ technology thermoelectrically cools the back-illuminated 16.8 megapixel sensor (e2v) to -100°C, eliminating the need for liquid nitrogen or unreliable cryocoolers. Extended dynamic range technology is complemented by up to 18-bit digitization capability. The iKon-XL 231 model combines an exceptionally low readout noise of 2.1e- with a very large well depth of 350,000e-, and is available with the e2v CCD231 in sensor QE coatings for various wavelength ranges in both standard and deep depression formats. -84 "astronomical" back-illuminated sensor is used. ■Features ・Electronically cooled -100℃ large area sensor ・No liquid nitrogen required, no cryogenic refrigerator required ・Extended dynamic range (18 bits) ・e2v CCD231-84 sensor (deep depression selectable)
