What Are Snap Ring Pliers?
Snap ring pliers are special tools used in the assembly and maintenance of industrial products.
They are used to attach (remove) C-shaped fasteners called snap rings. By inserting the tip into the opening of the snap ring and grasping the grip, the snap ring can be easily retracted or expanded.
The two types of snap rings are roughly classified according to how the tip moves when the grip is squeezed: the one that expands is called "for shafts" and the one that closes is called "for holes.

Uses of Snap Ring Pliers
Snap ring pliers are mainly used for removing and attaching snap rings attached to rotating parts of industrial machines to prevent them from coming loose.
Snap rings themselves can be removed by prying with a flat-blade screwdriver or shrinking with nose pliers, but this may cause damage to the shaft, housing, or other parts to which they are attached. In particular, when removing snap rings from around oil seals or parts that rotate at high speed, it is forbidden to damage the base material, so always use snap ring pliers to remove and attach snap rings.
Principle of Snap Ring Pliers
Snap ring pliers are characterized by the fact that the grip portion is longer than the tip, enabling snap rings to be removed and attached with little force using the principle of leverage.
In addition, the advantage of interchangeable tips is that they can be used regardless of the shape of the snap ring opening. However, since the tip is bolted, it also has the disadvantage that the tip is prone to rattling due to repeated or excessive use.
When attaching and detaching snap rings with wide openings or high tension, it may be difficult to pull out (push in) while gripping the grip.
Note: if the tip is inserted incompletely or if oil is adhered between the tip and the snap ring, the snap ring will suddenly come off and blow away due to tension. Be sure to degrease both and engage them firmly before use.
