About This Product

■Fins that can be inserted into the cooling channel of the mold

The IPFF series of fins inserted inside the flow path are heat transfer fins that can be inserted later into the cooling flow path of the mold. It is sold as a standard product so that it can be immediately attached to a φ10 cooling flow path to expand the surface area. This product has been realized by developing production equipment that specializes in high-mix, low-volume production.As long as it is within the processing range, the fin pitch, fin height, and number of fins can be changed freely without changing the mold. , we can manufacture the set fins even from just one fin. We can customize even dimensions that are not found in standard products, and we can also process stainless steel, copper, and other special materials in addition to aluminum (manufacturing range may vary). The expanded surface area will be approximately 3.4 times. Contact thermal resistance, heat transfer coefficient, etc. change depending on the installation method, fluid, and environment, so 10 times the surface area does not mean 10 times the performance, but it is possible to reduce the fluid that previously passed through the center of the cooling channel without exchanging heat. This leads to improved performance. By using a thin plate, the increase in pressure loss is kept to a minimum, so we recommend inserting it into an existing mold and trying out the new product. By being able to install it in places where it could not be installed before, we can expect to improve the performance of the product. Since the surface area can be expanded approximately three times, it is possible to expand the heat exchange area. In addition, until now, the flow path has only passed through the center, but by inserting fins, the gathering part of the fin tips also acts as a baffle plate, contributing to improving the heat transfer coefficient.

■Retrofit

It can be installed by pushing it into the flow path by taking advantage of the flexibility and springiness of metal. Since it can be installed as an afterthought, it is an innovative product that can be added to the cooling flow path of the current mold. Additionally, since it can be installed only in the necessary areas, there is no needless increase in pressure loss.

■Lightweight

Our fins are made by bending very thin metal material. The fin part is twice the thickness of the board, and the bottom part has a streamlined shape that matches the thickness of the board, making it extremely lightweight. Even if it is inserted into the flow path as an afterthought, it will not affect the mold.
