About This Product

Measurement stability in STM measurements is greatly affected by the quality of the probe. Variations in the tip diameter of the probe, contamination of the probe surface, and failure of the cleaning process often result in poor STM measurement results. In order to solve these problems, we have successfully developed an STM probe made of nickel and platinum iridium using an electrolytic polishing method that produces a sharp tip diameter with less contamination. We offer metal probes that allow you to experience a high level of stability that was previously unobtainable. In addition, we also offer traditional tungsten probes.

■No need for probe heating treatment, allowing stable STM measurements

We have confirmed that atomic images can be stably obtained during HOPG observation in the atmosphere and gold observation in ultra-high vacuum without the need for high-temperature heat treatment. (Limited to nickel and platinum iridium probes. However, if the observation surface is active, we recommend heating for degassing.)
