About This Product

■What is parent-child filler?

1. The installation tolerance of anchor bolts is ±8.5mm (M12) to ±22mm (M80), which is much higher than ±2.5mm for public notice column bases. This makes it easy to erect and align steel columns. In addition, it can be temporarily fastened at two diagonal locations, greatly reducing construction time. 2. Frees you from having to ``reset'' anchor bolts or ``re-drill'' base plate holes. 3.It can be used in the same way as the construction of conventional steel column bases. 4. No qualifications are required to install parent-child fillers.

■S type

1. The bending force and axial force generated on the column base will be carried out in the same way as the normal exposed column base design for both the primary and secondary designs. 2.For the shear force generated in the column base, the frictional resistance force at the bottom of the base plate is used as the shear strength of the column base in both the primary and secondary designs. If the shear force exceeds the frictional resistance force, the shear force cannot be transmitted to the anchor bolt. (Except when shear force handling is applied in both the primary design and secondary design)

■Installation method

The parts other than the parent and child fillers are the same as the conventional configuration. Installation is completed by simply drilling the specified anchor holes in the base plate and installing the parent-child filler on site.

■Advantages

By using a parent-child filler, anchor bolt installation errors (deviation from the standard position) can be absorbed within the allowable eccentric distance for anchor bolt installation. Therefore, it is possible to avoid procedures that have performance problems, such as "resetting the machine" or "redrilling the holes in the base plate", which were conventionally performed in some cases. It also helps the process run smoothly.

■Technical evaluation

The parent-child filler has undergone a technical evaluation by the Japan Architectural Steel Structure Technology Support Association, and its structural safety has been confirmed. There are two types of technical evaluation reports: "parent-child filler column base method" and "K-type parent-child filler column base method." The former is compatible with general column bases with anchor bolt diameters of M12 to M80, and the latter is for staircase-specific types limited to M16 and M20. Parent-child fillers are registered with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's New Technology Information System (NETIS). (KT-130088-A)
