■What is EDC?

EDC can remove all types of dirt that cannot be dissolved in oil, regardless of whether it is metal, non-ferrous metal, organic matter, or inorganic matter. In particular, a major feature is that it can remove oxidized and altered substances from oil, which account for many of the causes of failures in hydraulic equipment. EDC is also the only oil purifier that can remove oxidized substances from oil that are difficult to remove with filters. The principle of EDC is to use the electrostatic charge on contaminants floating in oil to capture contaminants using electrodes. When particles dispersed and suspended in oil are classified according to their electrical properties, they can be divided into one of three types: positively or negatively charged bodies and neutral bodies. Positively and negatively charged bodies are attracted to opposite electrodes (electrophoresis phenomenon), and if a pleated collector is inserted between the electrodes, a region with a strong electric field is created, which attracts neutral bodies (dielectrophoresis phenomenon). ).
