About This Product

Calcium chloride

■Sunny Keeper

This is an antifreeze agent that uses calcium chloride. Like sodium chloride (NACL), it is an inorganic salt and is present in trace amounts in natural seawater. It has hygroscopic and deliquescent properties, and when used in frozen areas, it melts snow and ice with its high melting heat. In addition, when it becomes an aqueous solution, it has the effect of greatly lowering the freezing point (freezing point lowering effect), making it highly effective in preventing roads from freezing. Compared to sodium chloride, urea, sodium acetate, etc., which are also used for anti-freezing purposes, it has a significantly different ability to lower the freezing point, and for this reason it is also used in extremely cold regions. If freezing is expected the next morning, we recommend spraying chemicals early on the same day.

■Usage amount

The amount of spraying varies greatly depending on the temperature, ice burn thickness, traffic volume, etc., so it cannot be generalized. Furthermore, it is extremely difficult to predict the drop in temperature and amount of snowfall after spraying, and the results are often the opposite of what was predicted. Therefore, in actual work, the amount of spraying per time is constant, and if there is heavy snowfall or temperature drop, the number of sprayings can be increased and adjusted.

■How to use

・It is effective when sprayed before freezing. - Spray directly on frozen or snowy areas.
