About This Product

A typical AC adapter has a structure that can protect up to about 1kV. However, if a surge voltage higher than this is applied, the AC adapter may be damaged or the connected equipment may malfunction. If you connect a communication device or a device with a wireless antenna to the AC adapter, it will be more susceptible to the effects of induced lightning. When used in environments susceptible to lightning, we can manufacture AC adapters with optimal lightning protection.

■Example of high surge countermeasures

・Main uses: Electronic locks, security cameras ・Combine a varistor and a surge absorber to absorb high surge voltages. - A fuse with a high current rating is placed in the front stage of surge protection, and a smaller fuse is placed in the rear stage to achieve both increased surge resistance and circuit protection.

■Example of countermeasures against induced lightning

・Main applications: CATV equipment, communication equipment, broadcasting equipment ・A discharge path consisting of a varistor and a surge absorber is provided between the primary and secondary. - Surge voltage that enters the secondary side is passed through this path and bypassed to the primary side to protect the equipment.
